
National Park Service: Students visit various National Parks to learn about the rich history of each location and potential employment through engagement with personnel.

LSWHTA 2021 cohort learning the rich stories of past peoples and cultures through visits to national parks and heritage sites.

Hands-on learning: Students are able to combine knowledge with hands-on experiences through digging, excavating, screening and cleaning artifacts alongside archaeologists.

Museum visits: Students engage with numerous exhibits at museums and cultural center to deepen their knowledge on the Indigenous peoples of the Southwest and the role of archaeology in museums.

Lab experience: Students learn from various professionals about the numerous scientific methods used in the field of archaeology.

LSWHTA offers students and educators the opportunity for hands-on, behind-the-scenes archaeological experiences at cultural sites, in university laboratories, and at regional national parks.

Students learning about how drones are a less invasive approach to understand the archaeological landscapes.
